How long do the batteries last in the Wireless Weather Station's outdoor transmitter.
WS-3600: The manufacturer states that good quality Alkaline batteries (like Energizer) will last up to 3 year. For better results invest in premium Lithium batteries.
WS-2310; WS-2307: The manufacturer states that good quality Alkaline batteries (like Energizer) will last up to 1 year. For better results invest in premium Lithium batteries.
WS-1510-IT: The manufacturer states that good quality Alkaline batteries (like Energizer) will last up to 2 years. For better results invest in premium Lithium batteries.
WS-1000: The manufacturer states that good quality Alkaline batteries (like Energizer) will last up to 2 months. For better results invest in premium Lithium batteries. If you are in a very cold or very hot area the battery life will be
much shorter, in this case the factory recommends the external AC power adapter.
Can I connect constant power to the outdoor sensors so I do not need outdoor batteries.
Yes on the WS-3600, WS2310, WS-2307 a 10m data cable is supplied that bypasses the wireless and battery system in the outdoor transmitter.
On the WS-1000 a separate AC power pack with a 6m cable can be purchased.
How do I connect the outdoor sensors to the inside base station
The outdoor system consists of a wind sensor and a rain sensor that connect with supplied plug in cables to the thermometer module. The thermometer module contains batteries to power the sensors and is also the transmitter
that send the data back to the base station. Range: WS-3600, WS2310, WS-2307 & WS-1510-IT transmit up to 100m; the WS-1000 transmits up to 60m.
Can I connect the outdoor sensors to the inside base station with a data and power cable
Yes on the WS-3600, WS2310 & WS-2307 a 10m data cable is supplied that bypasses the wireless and battery system in the outdoor transmitter.
(Not available on the WS-1000)
Wind direction is opposite
Verify that the "N" indicator in wind direction sensor is facing North.
Outside temp is too high
Verify location of transmitter and ensure it is not exposed to direct sunlight or radiated head from a hard surface e.g. a tin roof or a brick wall.
Wind chill does not work
For wind chill to be displayed, wind speed must be above 10km (6.2 miles) and temperature must be 5C (41F) or lower.
What batteries should I use?
Lithium batteries are recommended during cold months as Alkaline batteries are not rated for cold weather.
Rain gauge does not record accurately
The location of the rain gauge is key to the accuracy of the rain gauge. Please ensure the collection funnel is unobstructed from rain. Sometimes it takes what we think is allot of rain to register 0.1mm, so while it is raining watch the
collection funnel, is it catching the rain unobstructed and watch how much rain is needed to allow water to run down into the sensor.
How long is the warranty?
The Weather Stations has a 1 year warranty.
The data cords are too long, can they be cut?
Modification to any component including data cords and hardware will void the warranty. While this can easliy be done with a soldering iron wait until you are happy that the unit works properly before attempting to shorten any
cables and giving up your warranty.
No outside info, just dashes
Possible radio interference. Reset the base station and transmitter, re-establish 'Set ID' by having both monitor and transmitter side by side. Change location of transmitter and monitor until interference location has been eliminated.
No outside information
'Set ID' has not been established or has been lost. Check battery condition and reset the Home Weather Station.
Do I need to connect my weather station to my PC to make it work?
No, the WS2300, WS2308 & WS3600 units are excellent stand alone units with a comprehensive easy to use display.
